Herne Bay Sailing Club

Family Sailing at its best

Key Events

Throughout the year the club holds a number of 'tent pole' events which combine sailing and social activities. These events are the highlights of the year and are very popular.

Club Week

Club week is held in the first or second week of the school summer holidays and is predominantly focused on the children on the club members. We look to get 70 children of all abilities on the water on the Mon-Wed. Thursday is a club cruise and Friday is free sailing.

Ladies Day

A day focused on the ladies of the club. The day starts with breakfast, a sail or powerboat session, the infamous 'Commodore's PIMMS', lunch, more sailing or relaxing, a quiz and finally dinner. All laid on by the gentlemen.

Celebration Weekend

The club host a two day open in memory of all past members of the club. On the Saturday we have a pursuit race for the Paul Smith trophy and a handicap race for the Colin Sproxton trophy. On Sunday we have a series of three races and compete for the Jim Newbery cup.

Location

Family Sailing at its best

We are a family friendly sailing club and enjoy some of the best sailing waters on the North Kent coast. Our favourable location and our own slipway access mean that we are able to launch and recover at most states of the tide. We have members of all ages and abilities, and anyone interested in sailing with us can be sure of receiving plenty of help and encouragement.
