More than 60 members turned out on Saturday to lay the slipway, prepare the clubhouse for the new season and make bacon sandwich and pies.
The slipway is down, the club boats are ready for training and hiring, Tango has a new engine and the safety boats are ready to go, walls have been painted, the bar has been scrubbed, window sills fitted and doors now open easily. A huge thank you to all. If anyone remembers where the last two mast pins were safely stored for winter, please let the bosun know before he buys some more. The opening splash is just over a week away for the hardy sailors! The day finished with pies, mash and puddings. Thank you to the pie and mash team for the fantastic food. Congratulations to Luke Herlihy who was presented with the Allan cup trophy.

Update 12/03/16: Boat parking allocations are now posted on the club noticeboard.
Boat registrations have been late trickling through this year but we now have a reasonably complete list and plan to allocate spaces and re-mark the bays this week. As the list tends to be fairly dynamic while we add late arrivals, we intend to use last year's scheme of a master list on the notice board. We aim to allocate the same spaces as last year where there has been no change in the boats registered, but late applicants may have to put up with spaces further down towards the Coast Watch building on a "first come, first served" basis.
Improvers training will start again on the 2 April at 1000. The aim for this season is to run an improvers session most weekends, to allow for tides the start times for the sessions will either be early (1000 ) or late (1400).
To allow this to happen we need Senior Instructors(SI), Instructors (Instr), Assistant Instructors (AI) and power boat helms to run the sessions. If you are willing to help out over the season in any capacity then please let me know at hbsc.training@gmail.com, I am not after commitment to specific date at this stage just a expression of your willingness to be involved. For your information the planned dates and times are in the table below: Improvers dates.
