The slipway is due to be upped on Saturday 21st October. For new members, this means removing the wooden sections, scraping and cleaning the barnacles off the sections, knocking the rust off fixings and stacking the sections securely next to the fuel store.
All members young and old are encouraged to come down early on Saturday morning to help out; there's a job for everyone. The more hands the quicker the job is done and the bacon sandwiches can be consumed. Timings will be confirmed by the Sailing Committee. Members' boats need to be removed from the Mirror Park--the area between the clubhouse and boatshed--before the slipway is upped so that the sections can be stored. If you are not sure why members' boats have to be taken away over the winter, have a look at Ian Moore's video from 5th October.
