A ‘Vision’ or two at Herne Bay

Saturday and Sunday saw an RS Sailing Dinghy Open Meeting at Herne Bay Sailing Club with the ‘RS Vision’ being the main dinghy on display. A great deal of hard work had gone into organising this event by Matthew Hogben the club’s Sailing Secretary and all who came enjoyed two days of great weather and good sailing conditions on the North Kent coast.
Flat is fast!
The spoils in the ‘Vision’ class overall went to:
1st Stephen and David Lloyd - Oxford Sailing Club
2nd Dan Jaspers and Bex McNeil, Ceilidh Higgs, Emsworth and HBSC
3rd Martin & Ellen Phillips – Great Moor Sailing Club.
I've got this great plan Henry!
In the RS Feva Class:
1st Ross Blackledge & Henry Hickson - Herne Bay S.C.
2nd Elliot Jiwani-Brown & Alice Golton - Herne Bay S.C.
3rd Peter Bowell & Tom Daniel - Herne Bay S.C.
Where did the others go?

The Hogben Boys
Flat is fast and sit up the pointed end!
Elliot falls behind as he chats up Alice!

There are hundreds of pictures of this event on the club computer for you to look through. I can only post a few on the website as even I have to go to bed sooner or later.

i am writing to inform you that there is a mistake in you results, the mistake being my name excluded from the race results. in the future i can only ask that you refrain from such mistakes again, or who knows you may be OCS AGAIN!!!!!!
Good luck for next time

P.S. Keeping the boat Flat downwind in a RSVISION in light air is wrong. you should look to let the Spin halyard off about 6-8 inchs and heel the boat on top of you, im sure that must be the same in the 2000 Dai or is that were you are going wrong??
Cheeky Smiffy
I could say write the reports yourself, especially having written such a nice report in SPLICE about you, but as you are my guru these days I will heed your words o grasshopper. I will hike to windward for all my worth in the light stuff and see if I can stay the right side of the start line at the off.
That will teach me to put captions on the report pictures and rely on someone else's race results. My fault!!
Cheers Smiffy
No worries, by the way if we
No worries,
by the way if we are being picky the helm downwind would be down to leward and the crew would do the hiking!!

What have I done!
What have I done? I feel like I have opened Pandora's box. I am simply too old and too slow to keep up with this banter.
All those years of sailing with you, I should have known I would never have the last word.
Well done Smiffy? I CAPITULATE!!!!!!
Perhaps we ought to give somebody else some web time now?
