Hi Webmaster
firstly i think that the functionality of the sight is very good. My concern is not with the functionality, but we need to get across to members that they should use it to pass on their ideas and use it for debating club issues. I can't help feeling that a short email to members explaining the simplicity of this system is needed. I feel some members are afraid of using it. It has been decided that this is the way forward for the club, therefore members have to get use to using it.

i think it would be quite good if we had a for sale part of the website, we could also have a list of all the diffrent boats in the fleet and who sails them and a tally of who is winning the series.

wednesday eavning racing

could we put the Wednesday evening races onto the fixture list so that people actually know that they are happening and this might raise the numbers of people attending as most people use the website to find out the fixtures.

 Does anyone ever read the forums written by our up and coming young sailors.  What is happening about Wednesday evening racing ?  Who answers these questions now that Matt has returned to the back benches?  Not that they were ever answered before!  It's good to talk!  -  but only if someone or a committee is prepared to take on board these issues.  We need guidance, or is just up to a group of individuals to set up their own series?  Are we going to step on committee member's toes by doing this ourselves, or is it a case of let's go for it with an email to see who is available.

 Remember :  It's good to talk!

Sorry we missed you...

Hi Tom,

Firstly, sorry we've missed your messages! The sailing committee is now monitoring the forum, so hopefully this won't happen again. To answer your questions:

- We're trying to set up a regular update on the series results, both on the website and on the club notice boards. You should see this in the next few weeks.

- We're looking into the possibilities for a 'for sale' area. I'll have to get back to you on this one.

- With regards to the Wednesday evening races, they were on the fixture list in the Spring edition of Splice. Sorry they haven't so far been on the website fixture list, they will be on the website calendar shortly.
It was decided at the Boat Owners meeting in Nov08 that, due to a lack of numbers racing on a Wednesday last season, those that wish to race on a Wednesday this year would need to organise race officers and safety boat crew between them. The series is on the fixture card, the organisation requires a little effort from those who wish to race!
