Local Notice to Mariners Coastal Defence work at Herne Bay, Kent Carried out under MMO Licence L/2018/00134/1 Mariners are advised on or around the October 1st 2018 coastal defence work will commence at the beach just below the beach to the east of Herne Bay. The works will involve supply of rocks to the beach and will involve large marine vessels. The vessel delivering the rock to the beach will be the Selina, accompanied by tugs New Ross and MT Indus. It is expected that the operation offshore will take 1 tide to complete. All marine equipment will depart on completion of the works. 1.8’18”E / 1:8’20”E / 51.22’24”N / 51:22’23”N
All vessels will be lit in accordance with international regulations. Mariners are advised to keep safe distance from all vessel involved in the operation and note that there will be vessels ‘under tow’.
