On a dry and sunny Saturday, various members were at the club completing jobs in preparation for the new season. Work has started to prepare the lounge for the fitting of the new windows in the clubhouse, Viking's engine has been moved to Avon and the racking in the gear store has been dismantled in preparation for reconfiguration to make it easier to store training gear.

Dai Griffiths and Ben Skull ran the first training session of the year last weekend with a second delivered by Dai this weekend. They trained three groups of members in the roles of Race Officer and Assistant Race Officer and how to use of HALsail to calculate race results.
Thanks Dai and Ben and great to see recently-joined members and experienced racers getting to grips with what goes on in the race tower and how to produce results easily with HALsail. Dates for your diary, in 2 months time Saturday 17th March the slipway has to go down. So pop the date into your Google/Apple device, mind you we will be giving you updates as the time draws nearer.
The club will be having some major reconstruction works on the go so at the moment we will just be laying the slipway and the usual can do will be going on for teas coffee and if lucky some chocolate biscuits. All help is welcome and any time you can give will be appreciated. With a good day it can be done around the 3-4 hour mark, which is a good payment for 5 months of available sailing. The boat parking hasn’t been done yet, they are waiting for the memberships to come in, which means those that park their boats in front of the club house may not be able to do so until the refurbishment is finished, I’m assuming under a week-ish from the slipway laying.

Please check the rail in the lounge for your lost property. There'll be a big sailing jumble on slipway laying day to sell off excess club training gear and any personal gear and boat bits that have not been claimed.
