Thanks to the efforts of a large number of members (most of whom are not in the photographs) the slipway is laid and many jobs around the club have been completed. Herne Bay SC is now set up for a great season on and off the water.

The Dambusters Bouncing Bomb exhibition curated by HBSC member Bill Phillips and other volunteers at the Seaside Museum, Herne Bay, will run from the 24th March to the 19th May 2018. It forms part of the 75th anniversary of the Reculver Trials and the Dambusters' Raid. One of the exhibits is HBSC's Lancaster Compass (The Jim Newberry Memorial Trophy).
Two talks may be of interest to members: Monday 23rd April, 7pm at the Over Sixties Club. Peter Rix (Barnes Wallis Foundation) Barnes Wallis, His Life and Inventions Monday 14th May, 7 pm Herne Bay Museum. Bill Phillips, The Bouncing Bomb, Reculver and the Raid. A project several years in planning and fundraising is part way to completion. There is lots of making good to do, a roof to build, work to be done in the lounge and bar but the windows and new door are finally in. The lounge is going to look fantastic. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this project. The big question is what next?
Clare To any members who knew Colin Sproxton and may have a photo of this camera shy person, please could you either scan it or send it to Dai Griffiths as we would like to include his photo on the Celebration Weekend Poster.
Saturday 17th March turned out not to be the perfect day to lay the slipway. Photographs by S Lee. and D. Hogben.
