The first sailing Saturday of the new season was busy with members completing day one of an RYA Level 2 course under the instruction of Andy and Richard in slightly-testing conditions with the smallest sails on the club Wayfarer.
Three members enjoyed refreshing their safety boat skills with Doug, who gamely capsized several times so he and his boat could be rescued. By the looks on their faces and the shouts to go faster, the cadets had a great time in the powerboats during the afternoon with Ben, Ian, Matt, Clare and parents. There was also a safety boat on the water supporting the few brave souls who had come along to blow away the winter cobwebs. All of them took a dip or two in the gusts. On shore, the boatshed team and clubhouse window team were still hard at work finishing off the winter jobs.
