We kicked off the Improvers sessions on Saturday 2nd April bathed in sunshine with a gentle southerly. There were twelve people on the water under the watchful eyes of Bill, Laurie and Richard blowing away the winter cobwebs and rediscovering their aquatic mojos.
Laurie ran a spinnaker session for Luke and Doug by special request and the rest of us polished up some rusty skills. We tried a bit of roll tacking with good results (after an initial ducking!). We intend to introduce a series of sessions covering the RYA Advanced module on Seamanship as the season becomes established. Improvers is for any club members who wishes to improve their sailing, whether they are a novice or an expert. Let's Go Sailing! There won't be an improvers session on the 9th April because of a very low low water at 0.25m. There will be cadet sailing in the afternoon, so if members want to sail they may, though help is always appreciated on the shore, in the galley and on the water during cadets. Cadets will have priority for use of club boats and slipway access during the session.
